Dear Parents,
What a great time everyone had at Springfest last Friday. My sincere thanks go to the PTO, the parent volunteers, the class parents and all the volunteers that made the day possible. As you know, this event is a self supporting event. That means it is not a fundraiser, and any money collected is used to pay for the inflatables and prizes. Coordinating, soliciting volunteers and setting up took many hours and much planning. I again want to express my thanks to all who were involved.
Please note: Silly Bands are being banned from school as of the end of this week. They have become a great distraction to the students at all levels and therefore, in consultation with the teachers, I am requesting that they be kept at home. Consequences (as of Monday May 17th): First time-they will be taken from the student and returned at the end of the day. Subsequent times they will be taken from the student and not returned until the end of the school year.
This Saturday our 8th grade class will receive the sacrament of Confirmation at the church at 2:00 PM. They have been preparing for a long time and they are anxious to become more active, adult members of the church. Please remember them and their families in your prayers as they begin their role as adult Catholics.
On Friday, May 21st, a representative from the Attorney General’s Office will give a presentation to the 6th, 7th and 8th graders on cyber bullying. It will include misuse of internet, cell phones, and other electronic devices. The time will be from 9:30 to 10:30 and any parents (grades 1-8) who are interested are invited to attend.
