Dear Parents,
This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day. We thank God for the care and love and forgiveness they have taught us by example and by their words. We pray for our mothers and ask God to give them comfort and peace in their role as our first educators.
It is also appropriate that we take the time to give honor and thanks to Mary, our Mother through Jesus, during this month. Today our students participated in the school’s May Crowning and we remind the children to ask Mary to intercede on their behalf to Jesus, her son.
I would like to add my congratulations to the cast of Much Ado about Coconuts! by Andrew Ross. The cast included; Katie Allison, Mary Frances Pillion, Zoe Toigo, Victoria Kusztos, Caitlin McCormack, Erin Howe, Michael Reyes, Emma Kenee, Brynna Pollock, Haley Striewig, Patrick Wood, Molly McGrath, Sage Mansbarger, Sean Reitze, Pia Alderman, and Maddie O’Neil. I would also like to thank our director Fred Prestine and Ms. Hilburn for designing the set, the parents who supported this achievement in so many ways, the Trinity helpers who volunteered their time, and most of all the person who is responsible for putting it all together, Mrs. Przybylowski. Many thanks to all of you!
All Market Day order forms need to be in the office by Tuesday, May 11th. However, you may order on line until Friday May 14th. The food is very good, it supports the school and they have some great items for your grill! Orders will be picked up on Thursday, May 20th. If you have not tried ordering this year so far, this would be a great time to send in an order.
This time of the year is so very busy and I ask you to please check your school calendar each evening so you know what will be happening the following day. Also be aware of any notices that come home with additions or changes for the calendar. We wouldn’t want you to miss anything. One added item is the Trinity Band will be here on Tuesday, May 11th, at 10:00 to play for us.
Everyone is very busy preparing for Springfest on Friday afternoon. It looks like a lot of fun. I do want to remind you; however, that Good Shepherd is not responsible for the supervision of your children after dismissal (2:35pm). Any students staying will remain in their classroom until they are signed out by a parent/guardian. For the safety of the students, it is important that all bus students and car riders going home be dismissed before you come in to pick up your children for Springfest. I ask that you wait in your car or outside until the busses and car line are finished before you come in. Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter.
I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms. I pray that God will continue to bless you with wisdom, understanding and patience.
Sincerely,
Catherine Gibson
